David Lachapelle
Lachapelle’s pictures are extreme in every way. The colours are always bright and saturated; the models seem to be made of plastic; the lighting is sophisticated and the setting elaborate. His pictures have a confrontational attitude that some may find offensive. They are made to provoke, but in a satiric manner that indicates a grotesque farce more than an aggressive taunt.
